Do you remove and dispose of our existing floor covering?

Yes we can remove your old floor covering and dispose of it.

Do you provide a free estimating service?

We provide a free local no obligation estimating service and written quotation, please call or email us for more information. Please note there may be a charge for insurance or survey reports.

Can we take samples home?

Of course you can, our stores can provide samples for you to borrow.

What’s the best carpet for stairs?

A wool mix twist pile will last a long time and be able to handle the heavy wear stairs take.

Do you provide a binding service to make mats?

Yes any extra carpet left over from a job can be utilised to make mats.

What carpet is best for bathrooms?

Impervious backed carpets are best because they prevent water from seeping through to the sub-floor.

Can certain carpets be cleaned with bleach?

No wool carpets can be cleaned with bleach, but there are some man-made ones that can, please contact us or visit a store for information on which ones.

Wool continues to be the most popular carpet, 100% wool carpets are soft luxurious and hard wearing and keep the appearance well. Mixes of 80% wool and 20% polypropylene are considered to be ultra durable.

What is Polypropylene?

Polypropylene is used for inexpensive carpets, it is incredibly stain resistant but not as durable as wool.

What is Polyester?

Polyester is another fibre that provides good value for money and is easily cleaned, it’s usually found in deep pile carpets.

Is your work guaranteed?

Yes, every product is guaranteed by the manufacturer and our fitting is covered for 12 months.

Do you move furniture?

Yes if furniture needs moving as long as the small items are clear, and any appliances will need to be disconnected.

When do I need my floor to be smoothed or latexed?

When the subfloor has old adhesive stuck to it or the surface is rough.

Do you fit stair nosings?

On most communal jobs stair nosings are an important safety requirement that our company fit on a regular basis.

What type of mat is better for mud?

Coir is much better on muddy shoes then ribbed.

What is the quality differences in vinyl?

 The main difference in quality is the thickness of the wear layer and the density of the backing.

Which is more scratch resistant laminate or real wood?

Laminate is more scratch resistant but with real wood you can always refinish it.

Why do I need underlay?

Underlay improves the durability of the carpet making it last much longer.

Is Amtico suitable for bathrooms?

Amtico is suitable for all rooms including bathrooms.

Is Amtico Signature more scratch resistant then Amtico Spacia?

Amtico Spacia is very hard to scratch but Amtico Signature is even tougher having two wear layers.

Where is the best place to use carpet tiles?

Carpet tiles are great for offices and heavy wearing commercial areas.

What are the store opening hours?

We are open Mon-Fri 9am – 5:00pm, Sat 9:00am – 4pm, Sunday – Closed.

My doors do not shut after having the carpet fitted, do you do door trimming?

As a company we do not trim doors, we can however provide details of a local carpenter who is able to do this.

Where else might I find Altro Whiterock wall cladding used?

The possibilities really are endless. Not only is the product often found in hospitals, dental surgeries, nursing homes and sports centres, but it is also used to introduce vibrancy and design flair in reception areas and board rooms.

What is Altro Whiterock constructed from?

The product is a 2.5mm thick, high impact durable PVC which can be thermoformed round internal and external corners providing a smooth, uninterrupted surface.

Why use Altro Whiterock wall cladding?

Because Altro Whiterock wall cladding is a fully bonded system, it protects the substrate and provides a low maintence, easy to clean surface.

What makes Altro Whiterock wall cladding so hygienic?

Altro Whiterock contains an integral biocide (Altrosan), and because there are no added fillers or grouts required, the product meets stringent EU and UK hygiene standards.
