Carpet types available are:
Twist Pile
The most popular type of carpet we sell.
Available in various yarns i.e. 100% manmade, 50% wool, 80% wool.
Widths available 2m, 4m, 5m and any width up to 5m from Ryalux.
Kimbers stock two Twist ranges:
Ayrshire Twist: 80% wool 50oz suitable for very heavy use areas - exceptional value
Wessex Twist: 80% wool / 20% manmade twist in 8 contemporary colours, heavy domestic quality and a superb finish.
Twists are available in plain and berber (speckled) finish and many of the new ranges have a rustic chunky pile.
Velvets
These carpets have a smooth fine finish and give an expensive refined look. One disadvantage of this type of carpet is that they are prone to show ‘shading’ i.e. light and dark patches in main traffic areas. Nearly all are plain colours and most have high wool content.
Saxony
Deep pile carpets giving a luxury look and feel. Available in manmade and wool yarns. Will show vacuum marks so if you do not like this effect this is not the type of carpet for you.
Woven carpets that are at the higher price points. Very hard wearing and durable carpets available in plain twist and velvets but mainly patterned carpets. Some are traditional pattern but many are in modern contemporary designs. 100% manmade wiltons are available at half the price of wool ranges and these are very hard wearing.
Axminster & Wiltons
Woven carpets that are at the higher price points. Very hard wearing and durable carpets available in plain twist and velvets but mainly patterned carpets. Some are traditional pattern but many are in modern contemporary designs (see Brintons). 100% manmade Wiltons are available at half the price of wool ranges and these are very hard wearing.
Natural Styles
Very popular in recent times – most are loop pile in man made or wool yarns. Prices range from inexpensive to £30 plus per square metre. Wide widths are available in many ranges and being loop construction it is best to keep joins to a minimum.
Colours tend mostly to be beige, cream, gold. We supply the Crucial Trading range of carpets, many of which are made using completely natural materials e.g.

Many of these need specialist methods of fitting but provide a spectacular feature of any room.
Flotex
A unique ‘flocked’ carpet made from nylon. Flotex is virtually indestructible and will last for years and years! Mostly fitted to kitchens it has an impervious backing. It is suitable for any very heavy wear areas. We stock this range.
Matting
Kimbers Stock Coir Matting in 1m and 2m widths – very effective for dirt removal at main entrances. Many other types and styles of matting are also available.
